Classic Tracks
Web video.
John Bevan is passionate about racing his Morgan and has attended many track days over the years with a real variety of cars taking part, but he wanted to create something different and unique.
He decided to organise track days exclusively for classic cars where like-minded enthusiasts could safely indulge their own passion for driving these valuable and rare cars.
We benefited from a beautifully sunny autumn day at Castle Combe but to really make the most of this natural and dappling light we chose to use specially adapted vintage lenses on a modern video camera.
AICR wanted to produce a thank you film to be sent to their donors. Filming took place across multiple locations from their headquarters in St Andrews to a research laboratory at Oxford University, to a donor and cancer survivor’s home in Somerset.
This film demonstrates that you can take a charity budget and make it stretch a really long way, with a clear storyboard and an experienced crew.
The day we filmed on the beach at St Andrews coincided with the RAF having a training day for their Eurofighters a mile up the coast, the audio recorded that day might just have been in the loudest place in Britain – not that you can tell!
The Local Scene
Film.
Filming this pilot for a sit-com in one weekend, with a crew of one was exactly the kind of challenge I like to take on. The cast comprised of some actors and some friends of the writer and was filmed on location in pubs, gig venues and a recording studio in Guildford.
The high quality of the recording and the editing shows that time and budget need not be a barrier to providing high quality film.
BPE Solicitors
Photography.
BPE wanted to give law graduates a compelling reason to choose them as a firm to train with and create differentiation from other law firms. As one of the South West’s leading businesses they already attracted a number of graduates and we chose to use that as a hook for the photography.
By locating a vibrant environment for the shoot and using a group of existing graduates we show that there is already a culture of friendship, support and camaraderie at BPE and any new graduates choosing BPE in Cheltenham as a place to train will be welcomed in to this warm, friendly and fun environment.
Beatson Cancer Charity
Photography and print.
This project involved working closely with the another agency's creative team to create fundraising materials and a charity portfolio which could be used at high-value donor events and to secure corporate sponsorship. Photographing real people in challenging circumstances calls for patience, understanding and some humour. Planning the locations and keeping the creative concept at the forefront is essential; then it is a case of putting people at ease to bring the photographs to life.
Being able to manage the process from artwork to print is wonderful for consistency and quality control and there is nothing quite as beautiful and inspiring as a printed picture.
DMA Awards
Photography and film.
The brief was to create a film that stood up to the creative scrutiny of a well-respected British designer – but still reflected the values and client relationships of this award winning agency.
This film was commissioned and made specifically for the Direct Marketing Association award entry using a technique where we created the film which plays on the paper, converted it to a 750 page PDF and then printed each page on a sheet of A3. Members of staff were then photographed holding them one at a time. This gives the impression of stop frame animation and that the video is running on the pieces of paper. This was an eye-catching way to demonstrate the impact of the charities and the Agency’s role in supporting their work.
Those 750 sheets didn’t go to waste - the reverse side of every sheet was used for normal printing over the next few weeks.
Below are some behind the scenes pictures.
Various
Online advertising.
Like it or not, banner ads work, email broadcasts work and Facebook advertising works.
We've built ads for household names like Lego and Oxfam in both Flash and HTML5 and deployed them across various ad networks like Google's DoubleClick and Weborama.
Email broadcast is a techical challenge when considering the various desktop, webmail and mobile clients out there - your email needs to render correctly across all these platforms. We have proven track record creating responsive emails for charities like World Animal Protection, SPANA and Wateraid as well as commercial clients like Nandos, Lloyds Bank and Focus DIY.
Beatson Cancer Charity
Digital Billboards.
Beatson Cancer Charity use both static and digital billboards to promote events, raise awareness and to support fundraising appeals. Taking appeal themes and developing the creative to use the versatility of animation and large format not only raised awareness of the charity but quadrupled event sign up within days of the boards being live.
Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity
Digital Assets.
ECHC Christmas Appeal recognised that 2017 would be the last time Santa would stop at the building the hospital has occupied for 150 years. To give the appeal impact and make sure that the message worked across all channels we created bespoke digital assets that used the theme of the appeal to maximum effect.
Simply resizing images doesn’t work with web templates, Facebook, Twitter and email footers. We also wanted to make sure we could utilise the animated film of the hospital to reinforce the appeal message.
By working closely with the creative agency in the early stages of development we ensured that the key brand elements of the appeal would be visible and convey the right message across all the digital channels.
